Between The Panels

So I’m waiting for SOCIETY to dry, and yet I felt compelled to start a new piece. Its’ working title is ‘In Memoriam’. There are lots of reasons for this one. It’s nowhere near finished, though I’m hoping I’ll feel a second wind later today and get back to work on it.

As you can see from the clock, I’ve been chilling for about an hour now. Still not feeling the force, but then, yesterday’s painting didn’t start until around this time, so maybe I’ll pull it together shortly. It won’t look anything like this when I’m finished. Just wanted a compositional structure that had emotional resonance.

For school mates Wade Thomas (1982?), James Lake (2000), and Simon Bertrand (2013); for my friend Rodney’s dad, Gilles Brazeau (2015); and for my wife’s stepfather, Jackie Daetsch (2015; whose memorial service is today). Rest in Peace.

Lee.

  1. Lee, I really like the approach you took and the resulting painting in this one. Very nice.
